Diocesan Insurance Policy and Information
All diocesan parishes with full-time clergy provide Church Pension
Group health coverage for those clergy. This is part of the Letter of
Agreement between the clergy person and the parish vestry.
Any parish employee who works twenty hours a week or more is eligible
for health and dental coverage. Individual parishes determine whether
they will pay for this coverage or whether the employees will be
offered the coverage at their own expense.
When parishes insure their clergy through Church Pension Group AND
offer to pay health insurance premiums for lay employees, lay
employees must also be insured through Church Pension Group. The
exception would be that employees who are insured through spousal
coverage or military benefits do no need to change their coverage.
